Fayetteville is a suburb of Atlanta where you can take a self-guided walking tour through the city’s historic downtown district, and learn how Margaret Mitchell’s frequent visits served as the inspiration for places and characters in “Gone With the Wind”. Visit the Holliday-Dorsey-Fife House Museum, where you’ll find rare artifacts from the Old South and catch a show at the Villages Amphitheater. Fayetteville received its designation as a Main Street City in 1996. Since that time, the downtown square has undergone a transformation process, restoring the city’s historic streetscape while welcoming a variety of new businesses. As we move further into the 21st century, the efforts to retain our heritage and sense of community are stronger than ever.
